On standard medical care he requires stronger & stronger (more expensive) medications and Insulin shots, year by year.

Then there is all the "walks for a cure" that have donated hundreds of thousands annually to medical research, for 69 years promising a "cure just around the corner". They will generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to medical labs this year as usual.
Delivered nothing, have not even slowed it down, now accelerating and doubling every 12 years
Life expectancy in the U.S has dropped to 50th in the industrial countries of the world. 46th just three years ago, dropping like a stone.
Medical expenses in the U.S. are more than double the next most expensive country (the U.K.) (far above us in life expectancy) in the world. U.S. spends over $7,000 per person and life expectancy here is only slightly above Cuba that spends $300 per person annually.
