Result of high insulin (a fat making hormone) makes extra sugar wind up as
fat.
High Insulin is to overcome Insulin resistance a diabetic has built up over
the years. Insulin is primarily a "fat Making hormone" so it makes
it difficult for a diabetic to lose weight.
Eating refined sugar and flour etc, raises your insulin resistance and blood
sugar over the years, pushing the insulin resistance and ever more insulin
required to force sugar acceptance, keeps getting higher and puts you over the
top to diabetes.
Your pancreas was already making several times normal insulin to compensate
and now no longer continue to rise enough more to compensate while insulin
resistance keeps rising and the insulin to keep up tops out.
Result, you developed diabetes over a long period of time and it will take a
period of time to undo it.
It often took 40 years of high sugar to accumulate it, now its going to take a
year or two to get back to normal life if you take prompt action, (and really
work at it) if not, you have a 50% shortened life expectancy.
Despite the "pre decided" no known cure, you can if you have
the determination to do so, overcome it

(body gears up for "fight or flight")

online groups and fully participate with others in your overcoming diabetes
program.

Stress includes emotions which are feelings of anger, resentment, sadness and
fear for example, all sending fight or flight alarms which over time are
exhausting to your glandular system and major interference with Insulin and
blood sugar levels.
Be aware of that particularly if stress in your family life or job right
now.
Missing Sugar Dump
When Muscle turn to Flab, Sugar has no
where to go, but when the liver is full it automatically turned to Fat.
When you eat and turn out Blood Glucose ( blood Sugar) your body has to do
something with it.
You are not eating when or what you need, when you need it, you have been
eating by the clock, cause that's what you have always done.
When it is meal time you eat whatever amount or what you always ate. We
suggest you eat smaller meals, (every two hours) and lower these huge meal
spikes in sugar levels.
When the blood glucose large meals result is manufactured from your food intake
you body has four places to put it.
Exercise, physical movements burning sugar, what it was made for.
Store it as glycogen in your liver, one days worth is maximum storage.
Your muscle normal sugar dump, have turned to Flab atrophied, and you have
likely lost 50% of your muscle sugar storage capacity.
Your body has these remaining choices with this high blood sugar when the
liver is full (it usually is)
Turn it into and store it as body fat.
Pee it out, which puts a strain on kidneys over time.
When these are not adequate your blood sugar goes off the charts when insulin
resistance becomes high and high insulin cannot compensate by forcing body cells
to accept more sugar. This is diabetes and it is this resulting high
blood sugar that does the physical damage to your body.
Why muscles are Important to Diabetes
When you have a electronic component such as a power transistor, it comes
with a "heat sink".
This is a small piece of aluminum with small aluminum fins that the transistor
is fastened to and the generated heat flows into and distributed to the air to
be released to, without it, the transistor overheats and burns out.
When you have action muscles, you have a very similar "Blood Sugar"
sink. A place for the excess sugar to go to "store" it
temporarily.
The amount of sugar these muscles can absorb is directly connected with the
amount of vigorous, useable muscle. (even though resting at the moment)
If 50% of your muscle has turned to Flab, you are in trouble for absorbing
blood sugar. When you get older this is a common occurrence. You
not only slow down and burn less sugar with less activity, you allow your
muscles to turn to Flab by disuse.
The Role of Exercise and Strength Training
You have last 50% of your sugar absorbing muscle capacity; perhaps with
extensive exercise you stop further loss and the trend to Flab. Overtime
and a lot of work, you can get your Flab converted back to muscle.
We are in Rehab mode to save our "out of control" sugar mode from
doing damage and we need not only the old muscle rehabilitation, we need more
new muscle than you have had in recent times.
Strength Training
This is what you need to do to develop muscles where you never had them
before. Muscles do not just burn sugar, they store sugar to level out
peaks and valleys. When you increase muscle mass, you improve your sugar
storing absorption capacity even without using them, they are like the aluminum
transistor heat sink.
They become a safe place for your body to get rid of for now that
"extra" blood sugar and prevent these high spikes.
Most diabetics do not realize that a resting muscle is just as important as
active muscle in alleviating high blood sugar.
The lack of or the loss of muscle mass happens right along with age adding to
the "adult onset" (old age adult onset) of diabetes.
We have to work against this trend of loss of muscle mass to stop and reverse
diabetes.
"OLD AGE" Onset Diabetes is a Cumulative Disease
You slow down the physical activity muscle, atrophy and turn to
flab, aches, pains, and joint problems slow you down.
You eat like your habit makes you eat despite the fact you are
burning considerable less calories. So you add fat when you are burning less
calories than you are using.
The additional fat (particularly around the waist) adds fatty acids
to your blood stream
Increasing insulin resistance
Issuing higher and higher insulin to compensate to make cells accept
sugar.
Insulin is a fat storing hormone and high insulin means every
available calorie goes into fat.
Every year you have naturally had high periods (summer) of insulin a
gene thing to store fat and get caveman thru the winter famine.
Each year this raised your insulin level
A little more insulin resistance resulted.
In 50 years this accumulation puts most people "close" to, if
not into diabetes
Because it accumulates.
