Of all the things you can do to overcome your diabetes and/or early demise,
getting effective strength training works.
We try to mention this each issue, and call it to your attention. I have NOT done this unfortunately, been too nose to the grindstone trying to save my 40 year publishing business and keep a lot of long term employees working.
But you should SERIOUSLY consider taking this up. There is plenty of information on how to do this on your own but you may not last so might be better to get on with someone who knows it and stays working on you.
What you may not realize and this is key,
is that you are losing (and already have) lost a lot of your muscle mass.
What this means this is your big aging decline, key, that most people do not realize is a huge contributor to the diabetes happening.
It is also contributing to a health decline in other ways I wont have time or space to get into today, just lets say fix this and you fix a lot.
Your body was dumping high sugar peaks directly into muscles and make them absorb it as a store house or sugar warehouse When you lost some of that your ability to dampen out sugar peaks
went away.
When you exercise you do not build muscle you only maintain it at best.
Strength training is a whole different animal. Strength training is building new muscle. What old muscle you had left has developed high resistance to absorbing sugar. But the NEW muscle you develop has not so you are building a new high
sugar sponge.
To develop new muscle is a special technique and is different then exercising.
You exceed your muscles ability with weights for example and it in a few days adds new developed muscle and this works for 90 year olds.
This can turn your health around in more ways then just absorbing sugar peaks and essentially curing your diabetes. I bring this up every issue because those of you that really want to turn your life expectancy and undue diabetes, this is the route. Look into what this can do for you.
