You inherited a body system evolved from tens of thousands of generations and years of survivors of the caveman life and is the body system you have to deal with.
You:Definition of "YOU";
A modern person on a western diet. (Refined carbohydrates lacking in fiber) A huge gap from what your body was designed to require.
Caveman:Definition:
The Hunter Gatherer who survived primarily on eggs, seeds, roots, berries, mushrooms, insects and small animals and birds. The modern man current body system evolved and inherited from the 2 million year development by this long line of hunter gatherers (Caveman)
You:
Live inside out of sunlight most of the time and get very little direct sun light exposure.
Caveman:
Out in Sunlight a big part of the day scrounging food. Regulating hormonal and
biochemical processes controlled by sunlight (thru eyes to the hypothalamus were fully functional as a result of long direct sunlight exposure.
Corrective Action
Put yourself in direct sunlight (clouds okay) at least 30 minutes a day with as much skin as possible exposed to light. Do not wear sun glasses and/or no glasses of any kind. Wave length that regulates glands does not penetrate glass.
You:
Due to abundance of and for most an unlimited amount of food and type of food currently in vogue you add considerable fat cells to your body each year for at least 3 years, with no fasts or any break in this constant over supply of food. Glands get no break. No period of ever getting back down to thin, but only add weight on top of weight each year.
Caveman:
Caveman stores fat during good season of year and plentiful supply of food which
carries him over drought and long periods of food shortage (famine) ( up to two months
with no food.) in off season. Periods of no food means glands get rest. By end of off season is skinny with no fat anywhere. Happens yearly.
Corrective Action
You need
to get back to your ideal weight by convincing your body it is
no longer fat storing season. Your body determined fat storing season by lengthening
day light, (now thrown off by the light bulb) and what is a normal seasonal abundance of starch rich plant life intake. Shortening hours of daylight
normally told it fat season is over. This is a struggle with your body trying to put on fat desperately to get you thru the coming food
shortage season, and you trying to get it to stop. Basic answer may be to cut out nearly all starch for a period such as the Atkins diet does.
Perhaps this tells your body, fat storing season is over. (remember your body determines fat storing season and the addition of extra fat storing
insulin in a big part by length of light.)
10 Generations Since Start of Industrial Age, (start of 3 punctual meals etc)
2 Generations Lived With Highly Processed Fast Foods and Engineered Oils.
You:
Half of your muscle mass has turned to flab. (weak worthless muscles) This flab does not readily absorb glucose. (only new active strong muscles)
Caveman:
All muscles used daily for survival and maintained at full strength and usually absorb every bit of glucose that comes their way.
Corrective Action
Not only get
exercise, get strength training and get muscles built back to full workable strong muscles that absorb glucose.
You:
You eat flour and sugar based and augmented products that add up to as much as half your
calorie intake.
Caveman:
Milled flour (grain) and refined sugar did not exist. They came along only in the last few thousand years.
Cavemen's body never had to deal with "high blood sugar" since he ate only high fiber slow digesting carbohydrates and few of those.
Corrective Action
Cut out all sugar and flour products and/or any products that have them added.
You:
You eat meat that is now nearly all grain fed and fattened with no
exercise. Percentage of this has grown rapidly in last fifty years. This meat contains up to 30% of the wrong kind of fat.
Grass and other free range foods raised meat products have little fat and different make up.
Caveman:
Caveman ate primarily fish and meat from small lean animals that averaged under 3% fat and no meat that was grain fattened.
Corrective Action
Switch to lean range fed and raised meats (preferably grass raised) etc.
You:
You have a diet where you get 40% of calories from fat and you have a intake of 1 to 30 ratio Omega 6 (safflower, corn, soy etc) to Omega 3 fats. (fish, flax etc) A shortage of Amega 3 fats plus you have a large intake of engineered fats such as hydrogenated fats.
Caveman:
Caveman had a diet of 20% fats, half of your diet, plus a 1 to 1 ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fats (yours 1 to 30) (ate lots of fish) Most important, Caveman ate
absolutely no engineered fats or oils. (trans fats) (Define)
Corrective Action
Cut Out Crisco, Margarine, and all engineered fats and oils (trans fats) because they confuse, cloud and cause improper
construction of your cell membrane insulin receptors. To correct this and help get your receptors back to absorbing glucose, cut down on Omega 6 fats and oils.
(especially safflower, corn, soy
etc.) Replace them with oily fish and flax oils etc. (Omega 3.) The
goal is 4 Omega 6 to 1 Omega 3 ratio. (ideally one and one like
caveman.)
You:
You eat starch rich potatoes that when deep fried as french fries (or with a topping) is almost the same as eating sugar straight.
Caveman:
No potatoes existed in most of the world until after Columbus so caveman had no starch rich tubers.
Corrective Action
Cut out all potatoes and starch rich
vegetables from your diet.
The following listing was not on the Caveman's list but may or may not be a problem in your diet so consider deleting all or part and adding back in when body is back to normal and a non diabetic life style.
You:
You eat and drink a considerable amount of calories (glucose) and some fat from dairy products.
Caveman:
Caveman had no dairy products. This is a relatively new food source for man and did not exist in the tens of thousands of years that cave man evolved.
Corrective Action
Consider cutting out or at least cutting down on dairy products until your body has had time to adjust to the caveman regimen. Try to obtain dairy products from animals raised on grass, not grain.
You:
You cook most of your food until the fiber is mush and your digestive system can obtain almost all of the freed
glucose, quickly.
Caveman:
Caveman cooked little or none of his food, eating most raw and full fiber, (slow sugar release) only digesting and freeing a percentage of the glucose
Corrective Action
Eat much of your food raw and unprocessed when able.
Try raw veggies with dips when hunger strikes.
You:
You eat regular meals 3 times a day with huge sugar spikes, whether food is needed or not. Habit and tradition hard to break. 3 punctual meal system only started in the industrial age..
Caveman:
Caveman grazed. Ate continually when and where found food available. He grazed on low food value
un-concentrated food all day long as he found it. Gorging only when he rarely hit it big. Some days found no food at all.
Corrective Action
Eat often in small amounts to appease hunger. Graze. This avoids blood sugar spikes
You:
You use harsh volitile chemicals in your home to clean, kill germs,
deodorize and kill insects. These chemicals vapors are inhaled, it is absorbed thru the skin and picked up off of surfaces where it has settled by food. These can affect your glandular regulation system. Your body has a built in defense system for germs and viruses but has no defense against these chemicals..
Caveman:
Was never exposed nor never had his glandular system screwed up by these chemicals. Nature regularly improved his defense system against germs and viruses as it gained "immune" experience over his life time and subsequent surviving generations. Much of this survival ability was handed down to you.
Corrective Action
Get out of the house all chemical cleaners,
deodorizers and bug spray etc. Use natural products like white vinegar, soda etc to serve same purpose.
You:
Taking Prescription Drugs, over the counter drugs and food
preservatives and additives as well as toxins. All have side effects which include deletion of some essential nutrients and other side effects on your body that could be the
precursor to diabetes.
Caveman:
His body never had to deal with any of these "non-food" agents.
Corrective Action
Check on side affects and contents. Find a substitute or do away with all together if
feasible. There is no use curing yourself of diabetes if you are going to get it reinstated again.
You: You as a diabetic have options:
Do nothing, go on with life, pretend like you are beating the system. ("nothing has happened to me yet").
Likely dead or permanent declining invalid in 3 to 5 years.
Take the prescription pills the Doctor gives you but otherwise ignore it, "I do not have time for this".
Add six months to the previous
Take the prescription pills, change your diet some and get a little more exercise. Lose a few pounds but still over weight. Take more and stronger medicals year by year as it progresses.
Dead or incapacitated invalid in eight
years, or less.
Take charge and lose all extra weight, take increasing
medication, as it becomes less affective and as disease progresses. Follow strict diets and using an adding machine. Count everything and eat according to strict
guidelines. Exercise extensively
Dead from hypoglycemia, affect of medication or progression of the disease, Or incapacitated invalid in 12 to 15 years.
Take complete charge of your diabetes. Change drastically, life style to Caveman Diet. Get blood sugar down to where you can get off all
medication. Lose weight (all fat) to below guidelines before recouping at all.
Exercise with strength training plus and/or walking 5 miles a day. 30 minutes of full sunlight daily, no
glasses. Use every helpful vitamin and supplement.
Coach your body for one year to get to a goal of a complete cure back to where you were before the disease.
The doctor confirms that you no longer have diabetes
Announces: "You can now eat anything you want."
Celebrate:
Go out for a double malted, and order a cheeseburger with a super size order of fries.
Remember, the medical people said it could not be done.
